Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting is a used to detect reasons for reoccurring machine failures or
abnormal behavior. By analyzing the machine behavior and damaged parts can the root cause
of failure be detected. When the root cause is known also correct actions can be done to prevent
further damage.
Typical signs of damage are:
- strange noise
- abnormal vibration
- high temperature
- power loss
- other changes in normal operation
Methods used for troubleshooting are always estimated case by case. Most common methods are:
- Vibration measurements
- Visual inspections
- High-speed camera
- Vibration animations
- Calculation and FEM -modeling
